Sweet as.
When I get off my arse and draw something up I'll email it over!
I'll need two sets, one for trials now, and the other is to calibrate the speedo
once my car hits the road (few months).
(hey, If going custom I may as well be doing 100 when it says so, unlike most others!)
:D :D

Much cheaper alternative too than getting it cnc'd and finding out it's wrong.

I just had mine sprayed and then used letraset as said before. Came out good. Will try and get some pics for you. Bit of the ball and chain's red nail polish on the needles works a treat too :P

I finally managed to get a pic or two of the guages I sprayed. Granted it's a Clubman not a Rover, but I'm sure the same priniple can be applied.

The Tacho used to be done as well, but it died, so I had to put another one in and couldn't be bothered changing the faces.

Wow wasabi!

That doesn't look too bad!
Can I see a bigger picture of that dash? I'm impressed with the woodworking that has gone into it!

Thanks Ray, it took a LONG time and a ton of effort :P

If you are ever sitting around having a few beers with your dad and he says "You know what we should do to that Mini of yours? Make a wooden dash!" make sure you have A LOT of time to kill ;) I guess if either of us were actually carpenters it wouldn't have been as bad.

There's also a centre console that goes in there, but it's a bit too bulky for my yeti feet, so I only throw it in when I'm trying to show off :P Also the window winders were made out of the same wood, but kept snapping. That's why they are now aluminium. The parcel shelf is the same as well as most of the trimming bits.

It's getting a bit old now, doesn't look as flash in real life

Got bored today so I started laying out my gauges.

Image

Image

At the moment they are just on regular paper.
The next thing for me to do is get new face plates lasercut.
Then the faces will be digitally printed or whatever and placed over the top of that.
When finished they will be silver, as I decided I don't want white anymore. :D
That way I don't lose the factory faceplates, not that they are worth much.

If I decide to move the tacho to the left side then the following job will be to hard wire
the cluster, to allow for not only the tacho but the reversed indicator lights, etc.

I'll get another update out when or if it happens.
:D

Seeing that i know you can use CAD... you should draw them in CAD and get them laser cut from 1mm thick aluminium. Glue a thin sheet of coloured or frosty white polypropylene to the back side to difuse the light. Should cost you less than a hundred bucks for as many gauges as you need (ie: the setup cost will be the biggest part of the total).

That SOUNDS hot... Assuming it would be good in practice...
