I have broken 3 Magna rental cars in 12 months on regular Armadale to Inverell drive I used to do. 2 gearboxes and an engine. The gearboxes just exploded and engine broke the crank which resulted in several pistons making a break for freedom through the block in a very spectacular fashion.

I broke a Camry as well but they were far tougher

.....it became a challenge

i was going to say a honda or a toyota..

if you're so keen on reliability and comfort....

mitsubishi brought out the "series 2" 380...

it's better than calling it the Mitsubishi "car that now doesn't loose the rear window" 380 ;)

My uncles, Pajero V6, which is supposed to be a tougher version of the 3.0 litre magna of it's time has blown up at 150,000 k's  But they have a 4 cylinder magna, which gets beatne by my mini in a straight line which has past 150,000 woithout any major porblems yet. Let's jsut say Mitsubishi is not known for reliablilty. Honda on the other hand, that's a different story. willy, what do you want? (thread hi-jack! :D ) Do you want a fast car, a reliably car, a large car or an economical car? Or all of the above. As IMO Magna only fits into the large car catagory, and possibly economical for it's size.

I want something thats 'normal'.
Something I can tow with.
Something with four doors.
Something with a largeish cargo area.
I don't need to go fast... I'll have my track Mini for this.

And to me... a car that does 11L/100km is as good as a car that does 8L/100 or 14L/100.
