Yeah I love me Rotors, kinda wish I spent the money and time on an RX2 or RX3 rather than a Mini. They f**kin go, thats for sure!!! Me mate with his RX3/808 coupe also has two Mazda 1000 utes both 13BT, 1 is pretty much stock 13BT out of a series 5 RX7, still shuts a lot of people up though!!! The other is full on. Same setup as the RX3, series 6 block, but with hi flowed T66, turbo ported, Microtech, VERY SHORTENED 9inch Diff. This thing is a very dangerous car, these utes only weigh 780kg, never had it dynoed but wouldnt be surprised with easy 360-380 @ the wheels. Go the rotors!!!!

Yes well just look at Archie and the Mazfix boys in Brissy, first rotor in Oz to do a 6 sec pass, ET 6.99sec, and the first rotor in the world to run a 200mph pass. All this from a 20B, mind you I think its got 3 turbos as well. Certainly makin a few of the big boys sit up and take notice.

Believe it or not but the guys in Peurto Rico are probably the quickest still, Abel Labara from the US, sold his S6 RX7 to Joe Signoreli here in Oz, that was the 1st rotor in the world to run in the 6's. I think Joe just bought a rollin shell though, so he will need to get an engine to match what the chassis can handle. But in the next year there should be no reason why Joe, Rocky Rayhem and the Pac Performance crew, and Archie with Mazfix all cant run consistent 6 sec passes. Its gunna be good, finally something to scare the V8 boys. Look out Ben/Victor Bray!!!!

For sure Hanra.... a couple of my good mates have had thier cars built by Pac Performance..... a Series 3 rx7 13bt that did 12.4 on street tyres (17 inch) and another 12at that ran a low 11 on semi slicks......... the last jamboree up here they had 3 car transporters full of customer cars

Certainly is a lucrative business at the moment

Yep, thats usually the case with the Pac cars, they arrive in numbers and to top it off they all perform good times, and hardly ever breakdown or give trouble. I've been headin to the Jamboree for the last 4yrs and its amazing how quick the top rotors have gotten in the last 3yrs. I was there when the 1st 7sec pass was done at a Jamboree, and now if you want to be competitive u have to be capable of a 7sec pass all the time!!!! Its a credit to the Pac boys though, they really have a cult following, they have given the Rotarys a good image.

Sorry getting off topic.... looking like a hijacked thread, can fix tho.

On the money there bro, from memory there are 6 cars in the 8's that I can think of, but if you go to the Pac Performance website, im sure it shows cust cars and the times they run. I find it strange how sooo many people still hate rotarys though?? They still think they r unreliable and break down all the time. Its simply not the case any more, this is the 21st century guys!!! Look at the Renesis out of the RX8 it took out best engine of the year award last yr.

Ahhhhhh ummmm, yes I think those 8 sec drag mins do run button starters........

I second the reliability on the Rotor's I never had problem....
never serviced it, Changed the oil and flushed it, Zip all else...change of airfilter was all.
I have noticed the influcqs of Pac Performance in the FF&R for a while but I don't think they were around at the time....(nor was FF&R) but an name that was well know for the wrong reasons was Alxander Rotories on Parra Road...I'm sure he did a few Mod Push Button's

With perfect government timing, the guys in the workshop have come through with a button for me!

Only took 2 years  but this morning i got an "Oi Michael. Catch!" :)

I was going to make a new thread but i recalled i'd made a topic about this before.. a LONG time ago :)

So...

Here's me new button..

Image

It's a ripper, it'll mount really well.....(this is through paper and hardly tightened)

Image

So now the interesting part is, the relay to get the button to do anything.

What amperage do i need for the starter circuit? Is it 20A or 30A?

i checked out jaycar.com (under the supervision of one of the techies) and he suggested to just get the biggest i can..

they've got a 100A one which will apparently do the job

Image
(yes.. the pic is a 10a one, that's what the jaycar site had ;) )
ttp://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp ... &SUBCATID=

it's only 40 bucks, but we only chose that one because we didn't know the Amperage needed for the starter circuit. Anyone know?

I'm thinking i may have to modify the hole a bit (to make it smaller) but it should look pretty nice... and i won't end up with one thumb looking like an enormous crab claw :)

Typically, i lent my starter motor to someone recently...

You are gonna need a bigger one than that. Crank current can be in the hundreds or thousands of amps.

Can't you just grab the solenoid out of a clubby?

Grab a clubman starter solenoid like he^ said,
or you need something good for at least 200A - $$$

Or are you talking about using a relay to activate the solenoid? :?
Not really necessary unless it's a really low current button.
The draw would be much less than 10A.
A cheap headlight relay will be fine for that application.

Cool looking button though 8)
