Hey Marvin, did that 'heavily body kitted' mini start life as a morris mini? Is it fr a tamiya chassis?

The owner says it's a "BODYSHELL - Chevron 'Monster Mini M' (modelled on the 1990's Fortech racing Minis)"
more pics of it here - http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=47873&sid=6733

The bodies for the Kyosho Mini (049 nitro and .15 nitro were morris mini's , I thought the original body that came with the Tamiya one was too .) were good morris mini's , straight replica of the 67 monte carlo rally mini . Talk to a really good hobby shop and they should be able to get the Kyosho body with all the chromework with it .

The two Kyosho mini's are on the right , the 049 on the top shelf painted , the .15 on the bottom shelf unpainted . The blue one is the Tamiya mini and is the first version of it which I am pretty sure is a Morris mini , the white one is a Mardave ministock electric mini and is just about bombproof , they were meant to be raced in a pack with plenty of biffo , hence the big bumpers front and rear ....

<EDIT> Just had a look , the Tamiya one is a Rover body but the Kyosho is definitely a Morris with external hinges etc ... Most of the aftermarket bodies I've seen are also Rover so try for the Kyosho .

I'd be pretty interested in one. I always wondered if they ever had or would make a Clubby shell.

Ok , whenever the guy who was selling them gets back to me I'll let you know more details but there's obviously a bit of interest here . For those wondering , no , you don't need a Tamiya radio control mini to get one of these , just make a board the right size with 4 wheels from a hobby shop and paint the shell the same as your clubman for a fantastic static model . Largest clubman model available that I know of ....
