Dry Cones, do you just grab them by the trumpet and yank them out? I expect to get heaped on from this...

Yep when taking them out they may need a little
but of help, but they should just comer out (unless
its the front, you then need the tool i think or if
they are all squashed you may not need it)

Then again, i am usually wrong so maybe you

The trumpet is connected to the cone bone...the cone is connected to the subframe bone....aaaggghhhh...see what happens when you have kids!!


The trumpet is a light press fit into the cone. Just pull that out. The cone seems to also be some sort of press fit into the subframe tower. Where you can see the cone on the sides, give it a light tap with a soft hammer and it should drop down.

All this is relevant if you have removed the upper control arm though....

Rears come out easy..Front you only need the cone compresser to undo it all unless it out of the car..but other wise give it a couple of waks with a hammer no need for BFH and a screw driver

so far i've had to smash the front two and one rear to get them un-stuck !
Luckilly i had the worlds largest supply of cones to choose from !

Yeah they're flapping around in the cone towers with the trumpets attached so a light (perception again) tap and they'll drop out . Yeah I have the upper arms out. Is there a trick to getting the trumpets off as I am going hi-los? Or is it likely that they will be MIA in the process...

odly enough you ask this question because i put hi-los in my front subframe and checked how hard the rears are to put in
my front subframe was out of the car so it made it easier
all i did with the front ones as i don't have a cone compressor and all my pits had been recently replaced so they weren't sagged (giving more play)
is take the top suspension arm out very simple if the frame is out of the car
no idea if its still in the car but just the 2 bolts (one either side if the arm)
then on one side there is a plate held on by 2 smaller bolts
undo that then slide the pivot rod out then pull of the arm and the rest should come out
if fitting hi-los i was able to put mine back together without the hi-los in it then just wind them all the way in sit them in then wind it back up

rears just undo shockie and jack up car and they should fall out

Yeah I have already removed the top arms. But I wondered if you could install the front HiLos without a cone compressor? Is that what your saying that will come in very handy....
