my advice is save some money, buy a 1/2 cut and get it in to a mini , then work out where you have room and later try and squeeze big power out of the motor.

my first car was a 100HP mini and I got myself into trouble with it. you don't realise but the first few years of your licence you don't want something massively powerful. It's a good choice of motor and has lot's of tuning potential

Most of the challenge is fitting the motor. as far as engineering requirments go you will have to ask NZ members, their are a few on ausmini doing conversions

can you mod the old subframe for the 4efte of do you have to make a new subfame? wats a good sort of power for this engine so i can still drive to work and back, then rock out to the drag and wax some hondas and the dive home but still have a recspecteble time? what brakes and hubs do you guys use, how often do the drive shafts brake whe they are moded?

Mod the existing frame forward of the suspension towers.

Out of the box the motors come with 100hp at the wheels. Fitting it to a mini you are reducing the wheel diameter so should accelerate faster than factory. In addition you need to remove the factory cat converter to fit it in the mini so there is more power. Plus the mini is lighter than the starlet. Brad ran a high 13sec qtr with 170hp at the wheels on $90 tyres.

Mini or Metro hubs with Metro Vented rotors and metro 4 pot callipers. Of course there are other ooptions but these are the common bolt on stuff. As for driveshafts, prevention is better then cure so make em strong. I have not seen nor heard of an issue with turned down toyota shafts to fit the mini spline. I have however been in a turbo gti mini that popped a welded driveshaft.

can i just ask if any one has got some pics of a good subfame with the motor out of it (that the subframe for the 4efte) is there chance of some one haveing planes and meserments that they would pass on? i dont mind if tis not petty all i want is the engine to stay there and do the job. the reaason im asking for planes for the subfame is because i realy do not want to stuff it up and it looks like you guys know your stuff.
