Im attempting to make my own dashboard. I had time while I was waiting for my paint to dry (see gallery section for mini resto updates). It isnt pushed all the way back because the paint was still slightly wet.
Tell us what you think, should i keep going, perhaps staining it a deep walnut colour, or should I stick with the original dash?
Thanks, steve.

I think staining it would look good. Depends on the colour of interior as to how dark id go!

I just made it out of bits and pieces I have collected over the years. I have an ammeter smiths gauge which will fit in there somewhere? Hopefully going to have a black interior, so maybe will go a deep chestnut colour, to match woodgrain steering wheel.
Steve.

Thats a nice job, we are looking at similar ideas for Danielles mini too. personaly i think the guages are better moved to the drivers side, and especially for a new/learner driver.we are also playing with the idea of shrinking coloured see thru plastic film overvarious patterned aluminium finishes (its all a welcome distraction from sanding sanding and more sanding)
well done

i made one similar to this kind of design....

have you sat in the driver's seat and haad a look at the gauges? from driving position?

well when i made mine, they were all facing pretty much horizontal and i really wanted to make them face straight up at me so im making another now that will hopefully point up at me on the right angle.

Sorry, im being heaps picky but i wanna be able to see the gauges perfectly and i suppose i pretty anal about most things.

BTW it looks a treat!! :P
