Hi KB! Yes I decided to use DrMini's lifting bracket instead of modifying yours (in case I stuffed it up  ). The sticker is in tact, can't have it damaged as it is worth several HP

Wife is a mini tollerator as she has always been. She just wants me to get it done and be done with it

Last night I managed to get all the wiring in, boy I'm glad I labelled everything! The extractors and dellorto is on. NOT VERY LONG NOW!!! :D

Great work Chong, you should be proud of your efforts and knowledge gained!

One small point (if I may  ) The dizzy clamp looks to be closed up, is it actually gripping the dizzy?

These little clamps are crap, particularly if distorted over the years etc. If you recall at Wakefield when you helped out with my orange sports sedan, I had all sorts of trouble with the dizzy popping out because the clamp was knackered!

I believe a sprite guy was making neat little alloy billet clamps, lost his details for now though.

I am sure yours is fine, just maybe tightened, then tightened that bit more to be sure!!

Well done again!

She clearly hasn't grasped the concept yet, and will disappointed to discover there is no such thing as "done" with a mini, was we all know :D

Hey Graham, always apreciate your input!

Yes the problem with that dissy actually is that the body has been machined down too far and is quite abit smaller than original size. Graham Russell did have a look at it but it needs to bend like that to clamp properly and yes it is tight but of course the tighter the better... hmm maybe I will glue it in!

If the Sprite guy is Colin Dodds - then his details are as follows

ph 0414 789 263

www.spriteparts.com.au

I have known Colin for nearly four decades and have liked and respected him for all that time. He has always been an excellent mechanic and A series specialist.

Cool, nice site!

But as I said above it's not the bracket, it's the dissy... so far have not had problems with the dissy popping off in the small bore motor as I ran it as you see it, but then again I didn't have 119 hp

Aah good! I guess if it has survived on the dyno, it should be fine!

The Sprite guy would probably machine a clamp to suit your dizzy!

Good luck with the first drive, wath out for all that power!! HE HE

Can't wait for tomorrow it'll be fun doing the final touches on Lillee. It'll be great to get a bit more experience under a Mini hood. Thanks again for the opportunity to learn its invaluable. Speak to later today perhaps and I'll see you tomorrow morning.

All my christmases have come at once!!! I drover her for the first time ever yesterday!

Like my makeshift accelerator cable bracket? Need to fix that asap...

Image

She goes really good, although yesterday because I used a suspect ign cable she was missing abit. Also probably because I have 3 month old fuel in the tank too

There's still alot of work to do such as mounting the binnacle and connecting the cables so the headlights work  But at least I can driver her now! in fact, I will go do that right now as a present for myself on Christmas morning :D :D

Thanks to Zack (1360 LS) and his mate Mark who were invaluable. Without them I'd wouldn't have been able to complete it by christmas. Ho ho ho!!!
