I use an EA Ford filter before the pump on Barney, it's huge- has very little restriction and I've had no problems.

never had a problem with the smell of fuel and the reason why the filter is before the pump is so crap don't block the pump first.

As I said...never had a problme...since its been thier I have never touched it 8) better than when it was on the sub frame :!:
