No problem mate we both enjoyed having a tinker and I'm glad you sorted out the dellorto for now. Can't wait to have a drive in her( i.e. passenger). LOL when you available?? Glad that she's on the road again and that I was able to help get her there. Congrats mate and I'm waiting to be driven in Lillee so let me know either on here or ring/sms me.

No worries Zack, call me whenever for a spin!

I can say without doubt that the Yokohama Advan A008 tyre is one heck of a good tyre! No wheel spin even at full trottle on first or second. Good wear rates and what can you say about price?? ($95 per corner fit and balanced, Bob Jane T Mart). They are an awesome tyre...

Thanks to kev today for making a new accelerator cable mount and exhaust bracket 8)

Top work and top thread. Just one request. Please put her on a Dyno Dynamics engine dyno in shootout mode with tyres at 50 psi, just so we can all finally know what the relationship is between an engine dyno and the numbers we get on those dyno days.

Yeah, you'll just have to do it today, tomorrow, and a week from next thursday.
There is very little correlation between the two as the chassis dyno's are subject to too much variation due to many factors.

Great stuff chong.

You also want to move your fuel hose so it doesn't touch anything. Don't want a hole rubbed into it!

Hey guys, thanks Grant! Couldn't have done it without your crane!

Yeah the fuel line and filter all been moved as I have installed the Fuelstar fuel catalyst as I am not running hardenned valve seats in the head. Thanks to Benjamin for the Fuelstar!!! what a champ! I owe you

RE: Dyno Dynamics, soon enough! Still abit of work left to do as I need to sort out exhaust clamps as the Y piece leaks abit. Will report back later on that one. But as said above, it's really accademic. It won't be as accurate on any given day as Graham's engine dyno, unless they take temp, barametric pressure and humidity into consideration and multiply it by those factors as Graham does.

These are taken care of by the dyno and can't be tampered with by the operator but only use Shootout accredited (only 17 in NSW) workshops such as MRC is Castle Hill. In fact if you took your car to 2 workshops and the reading was different I'd be ringing dyno dynamics and find out by keeping a record of the set-up. They are very helpful and interested when discussing issues regarding their equipment misuse.

Daniel
PS - Good job, love the filter, better than those ramflos, sexy hot...

OK if they take those readings then that's fine... otherwise it's a waste of time and money...

Finally mounted the binnacle from the other side. It does stick out a tiny but but really noone will notice until you either look really carefully or I make you aware of it  Man I need to take more pics seriously...

Also DrMini gave me some heavyish sound deadenning stuff and boy it's much much more quieter now that it was before, at least inside the car

Alot of work later and I realise that I must have pulled out the spade lug to the fuel gauge by accident... :( :? Oh well have to rip it all out again and redo it! Otherwise all the other electricals are in and working :D

Anyone know where I can buy 1.5" maniflow style exhaust clamps? the ones that go on the Y piece?

Well I went to Smithfield to Blackwoods and purchased some Norma brand heavy duty SS T bar straps to seal the Y piece on the exhaust. Copious amounts of Nulon exhaust sealant putty and some swearing it was finally on and No leaks! Yay!

Went to Karcraft today and purchased a new rocker cover gasket and Hey presto! no more oil leak!

Thinking that I was on a roll, I decided to try my luck with sorting out the idle and what do you know! she was rich by 2-3 whole turns of the idle jets  Doc gave me the idea that it could be rich cause I was running a PCV before and that was blowing in large amounts of air at idle, so I may need to lean it out quite abit. He was spot on! she now goes wonderfully!

I am almost getting to the point of nothing left to do!!! :P

Well it's sad but true... I think I've finished! no more leaks, no more rattles and squeeks, the jetting is spot on, the brakes work well, all the electrics work... I think she's all finished! :D

Nothing left to do but go fishing!

I started out wanting to learn mechanics and have a cool mini to drive around. 3 years later and I know what is wrong with her just by listenning and the scary part, I probably know how to fix it! I've never taken her to a shop in 3 years and I think that's an achievement on it's own. The fact that it also makes 119.7hp is a huge bonus and I am very very happy with the results. Not bad for an IT nerd

There's still abit left that I want to do such as install the other cobra seat, and putting in an adjustable front end... it never ends really

I even got my very first random stranger compliment me when I was parked at Repco

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped out, special thanks to DrMini for his undying eagerness to help. Thanks to Pete, Zack, Mark, Grant, Ben, Kev B and esp the Subway at North Rocks :D Thanks to those reading too, it's been LOTS OF FUN!

Here's to a BIG 2007!
