well i had my turbo engine running now for a few months now and i have to say it is great and well worth the money.
engine is out atm becuse of a problem with the vernier adjustable timing gear , look as if i didnt tighten the cam gear tight enough and has come loose and slotted the vernier hole. Next time this will be torqued to 75ft/lb

. The gear will be replaced as it was the only thing that went wrong and luckly didnt do an other damage.
while the engine is out i will be giving it s freshen up. the first thing will be the manifold , a new design is on the way just to help a little with flow , as the old one posibly lacked in this area. The new manifold will also be ceramic coated and skimmed after welding, because this was not done last time the centre exhaust flange developed a leak.
old manifold->
while the turbo is off i thought it could get a rebuild as there was some oil in the compressor side of the turbo and a had a little thrust and shaft play. The Quote came to $800ish depending where so the decission was made to upgrage to a turbo from the garrett GT series turbos. The new garrett Gt1548 turbo is pysically the same as my old garrett T2 but flows an extra 20hp plus is slight smaller exhast housing which should reduce the turbo lag . The T2 saw full boost at 3400rpm which was a tad high, but could have been partly to blame from manioflold leak / flowing not very well or turbo shaft play.
Last on the list is to remove the distributor. Im upgrading to wasted spart programable ignition. I will be using a ECU called Megajolt , which uses ford edis parts.
