Yes well 'those' people who did the riots were all from Melbourne who've come down to their holiday houses :)

Ummm. On the subject of the names - flute and cush - well cush anyway.
I spent some time in the army and while i was there some of us set up a book.

It was fine until we start having people welching on their bets. We "employed" a huge bloke to do some debt collecting. He was a mountain of a man. Anyway he said he had "crook knuckles" and would need a "cush" to do the job. We sort of said "where the **** do you get a cush". He smile and said "no worries". Went to the Q-store and withdrew a pair a woollen sock and filled them with sand. He told us that a sock full of sand does a dentless fractured skull.

I dont think he ever whacked anyone - I think just the image of hime creating a shadow and swinging his sock fulls of sand was enough.

I was down at Blairgowrie for the night last night... didn't go past Rosebud as we tend to take the Freeway home. Wish i'd known about this mini cafe earlier so i could cruise past. Next time. 8)

when boho said "my family have a holiday home up there. flute would know where it is" i got the impression that boho had a relative called flute..

hence my shock and horror...

(at the puck pun, i imagine..)

A bit off the subject, but why not... My wife's uncle (a classical/folk music buff) was over from sydney the other day and was surprised that i was able to recognise a timpani in a piece of music. :?

Do I not seem like the sort of person that would know of such things?

I studied music practically and .er.. theoretically all through high school.

I was stunned...

The situation was...

*music playing*

*timpani roll*

Oli "the musically inept(but improving)" wife says: Is that thunder?

Michael (me) says: That would be a thunderous musings of the timpani, dear.

The man from uncle says : That's a big word, Timpani.

I say: Indeed. It's a big drum, too.

U.N.C.L.E. says : How do you know about the timpani?

I was stunned...

Me : "I thought everybody knew what a timpani was?"

unbeleivable...

the uninitiated need only listen to the beach boys - good vibrations or the "good guys" commercials... :P

is it really hard for people to beleive i am at all musical....

you should've seen how savage the mother-in-law and aunties were when they found out i could play the piano.. (a bit... and badly..)

Very impressive, Googled or not. :D

You can buy DIY kits on eBay. FASCINATING INSTRUMENT if you ask me.

Also, check out "A Little Drop of Poison" by Tom Waits from the Shrek 2 Soundtrack OR Limewire "Art of the Theremin" for some chick who has made a bunch of recordings of famous classical tunes on a Theremin! And YouTube should have some stuff, too... :D
