Because it's a mini!

My mate had a hot yellow clubman in highschool and he used to rip her up and down the main road of our school, since then I've always said, one day I will do one up myself...

I didn't even like minis when i went for a test drive in mine. I just grew in to it, and now i wouldn't be separated from it. Unless it was a with a beautiful orginal EJ holden, or VC valiant :( .
So i didn't even like minis when i got mine. I think i just thought that i had to have a vehicle, and the mini was the one i test drove first.
I would have bought and EK holden a month before i got the mini but it was a few hundred bucks too much. And the day before i got the call back form the mini owners saying they accept my offer, i had rang up and arranged a visit to a HT holden, that was cheap and good.

So i got the mini by chance. And wouldn't turn back at all.
Its too fun

Why a Mini?????. I had never grown up with them but had always admired from afar.............. when we moved to brisbane from cairns and i got my licence i drifted off into the standard commodore/falcon route. It began to change when i met Low 'n' Blown bout 8 years ago and saw his vast collection that he, his father and sister had at the time. A mate of mine bought one of greg's (66 Deluxe) and i'll never forget the first time i went in that car, just an awesome experience (1330, 45 weber). I had always had in the back of my mind that one day i would get an excellent example but i had never been in the position financially until mid this year. The rest as u all know is history..........

I can honestly say the experience to this point had been memorable and it certainly won't be my last mini!!!!!!!!!!!!. I will get a Genuine Cooper S one day, irrespective of price

My first car was a `61 850, which I thrashed to death (as you do). It then grew from 850-997-1098-1220cc and then 20,000 miles later the motor blew, been revved too may times at 8500 I guess..
Put a 1275S motor in, then kept busting gears in the gearbox.... aaaaaargh!
So I said **** it- sold it and bought a Fiat 124AC. Italian Love affair then for 20+ years... 8)
We had a `68 cooper S in the early 80s, but sold it when the kids grew, got a Morris 1300 auto for $100... and it ran! .
The Fiat succumbed to the rust monster (as they all do) so I built another- some years later I just could not get diff parts etc. So I sold it and acquired a red MiniMatic. Got hooked again... or was that, still.
All told we've now had 13 Minis- some bought just for a few parts. Sadly, parts cars are now bloody hard to find cheap!

Wanted rid of my old Crappadore, coz it was more trouble than a mini(seriously).

Mini's dont have power windows that stop working when they want. Mini's dont have engine immobilisers that decided to do it's job while yer driving on the highway on the way to work. Mini's dont have electronic bits on the engine that continually shat themselves. Mini door's can be adjusted when they sag. Mini's dont have central locking that unlocks itself every bloody day. Mini's dont have cruise control that decides to go haywire.

So as many troubles as I've had with the old girl, it's been nowhere near as bad as that troubled child of a bombadore. Oh yeah, I wanted a smaller car, to run around town, and all the ones I had been looking at just cost way too much for what they were. Then my old duck pointed out an ad in the paper for a mini. Damn near handed over the cash as soon as I saw her.

My first ever car was a Mini - so in following true Baby Boomer form I'm on a nostalgia trip
