Hey Guys,

Just finished painting the van! 8)

It's by no means a great job, but allot better than the previous rusty state it was in.

Still have to finish the doors, but now I can start doing the inside and lights etc.

Thanks to everyone that helped with my silly paint questions, I now know how not to spray a car, and should have great results next time round.

The paint is untouched since the gun an hour ago, but I'm very happy that it should be seeing rego plates soon. (the roof looks better in person, still a little dusty and there are some stuff ups with getting the metallic even).

Thanks Ian, If I can get it done for the wedding in March or the bucks party 2 weeks prior I'd be very happy.

The little one is away till Sunday so I may see the doors done by then and the inside looking good.

Besides inside, lights + grills + doors all I need to do is bleed the brakes, fix the exhaust leek at the manifold + extend out the back, change the carby, remember to get split pins for the front hubs, fit the arches and it's looking good. Just need to see the piggy bank!

It's early to say, but a blue slip by this time next week??????

If you'd like to pay for rego and buy some new tyres - it'd be appreciated!

Will give you a call if I get stuck. That mower going yet?

It's just acrylic - first time painter.

It has a few coats of clear ontop. The roof is 95% clear and thinners with 5% metallic silver added, then clear coats over that. (was going to be a light sparkle over the purple - went wrong, so more coats 8) , happy with the two tone look)

The "clear can" states wait 24hour till buffing, but from what I've read it's better to leave it weeks or months.

Put the car in the sun for a couple of days then I'll give it a quick hit with the hose to wash the dust off.

Won't bother with buffing untill the car is finished and rego'd and I have many spare hours to play.
