matt i don't want to affend you i will buy local if available when i'm ready to go. i will be lokking at starting this part of the project some time in the next few month i will have the head here by friday and i was thinka bout just buying there guide book to look at to start with. they have have quote there "complete kit" landed here for $1900 plus import taxs.

i'm not trying to rush you i can just think this is a really nice conversion and will still remain easy to turn back to original if need be.

i value your opitions on the matter and i know this kit is not"complete" but it just looked like the main items needed are there. and really any where up to $2500 for all the main parts would be worth it.

i think $60 odd dollars for the guide book could be a good investment for me to start at.

Shorty, hee hee, it`s hard to offend me :-) & of course you won`t,,, even if you do buy the S/C kit, i`ll still be a while before my stuff is ready... I allready do have plenty of firm solid orders for mine & will be continuing to do them for years to come... so i`ve no problem with people ordering overseas at all, it`ll just cost you more from over seas :-)

& 1970mini K... there`s a video of my first Bimmer Twinky when we first started the engine on the floor is on youtube here--->

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H70vEq_FMvs

& there`s more of em out there now with Fab`s on the net as well (can`t seem to find it right now, will look for it later , sorry but i`m preparing to leave for Canberra so can`t spent the time i normally do here today or tomorrow :-) )

& also the first 8v job from JohnK (the guy originally involved with setting up the bimmer kit through Spoecialised Components & Morespeeds first one,,,he usually hangs around on www. turbo minis .co.uk) showing the first run of his 8v mini wagon shown here--->

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fGTtXdp-Do

you just have to look around, sorry but i surf around all the www mini sites heaps & see what`s happening & also get e-mailed by heaps of friends even before some stuff has hit the net.

i think you can even do a search on youtube & on putfile as well, there are some there too

cheers & shorty, don`t be put off by me please, i don`t mean to stop you doing whatever you want, Definately NOT what i`m doing... i`m just saying that it will cost you more than you have been led to believe & that`s because of clever advertising/marketing more than personal friendly interaction,,, there`s a very big difference.

& watch out cause the engine block won`t be worth bringing back to std after you do the Bimmer conversion,,, the car can tho if that`s what you meant.... that`s the easy bit,,, & way better than a jap engine conversion because of the Bimmer Twinky conversion`s simplicity.

I`ve no doubt that S/Components kit will be good, they do good work & they have now lately shown one actually running,

i`m just warning people about the fact that not everything is said about that conversion up front, i have displayed my 2nd version on the net & did that a few years ago, i`ve been open & honest about it all , every step of the way, one of my web pages even shows you a step by step process of nearly everything i did to/with my 2nd conversion, i`m now onto the 4th & 5th engines & another customer has just ordered a turbo injected one for his moke today (this morning in fact) & yes because of him i was late for lunch with my girlfriend :-)

again, sorry that i havn`t had all my kits ready in time for you lot, i really wish i had,,, & please don`t just wait for me if you want it right now, go & buy the overseas one, but it will cost you more, that`s all i`m trying to say.

"""Good things come to those who wait""",,, there`s a very good reason why that phrase/quote exists :-) & as it happens was a bit of a joke among quite a few of us on the world wide mini web when Morespeed first introduced his S/components kit fitted Bimmer mini with supposed HP figure on the dyno -->with accompanied photo showing the mini on the dyno ,,,,,, BUT!!! with no axles in it & other stuff only half done obviously hadn`t actually ran yet but did advertise the HP figure,,, clever advert but not clever enough hey? ---He`d jumped the gun>>> & yes, before anyone jumps on me, it was confirmed to me by a close friend of his....hee hee, I have my spys too :-)
