I've been trying to get some tyres for a new set of 12x5 or 6's (haven't decided yet) and I wanted the Yoko's, but they have been discontinued so I thought I'd let every one know. Below is the e-mail I got from Yokohama Australia.

Ps. whats the next best do I go the formula-r?

Hi Glen,

Unfortunately the tyres you’re after have been discontinued just recently and we can’t order them in.

For a marketing guy he didn't try and sell me anything, probably because they don't now make anything in the right size! :(

Go the AO48R's....I'm more than happy with them.
The guys I purchased them from was the Yokohama Performance Centre in Willetton. PH 93547855.
I ordered the tyres(YA048R165512) by phone ,then when they arrived I took my rims up there to have them fitted.Hope this helps you :)

He would have been just as well writing the following:

Dear Glen,

Don't have 'em. Tough s**t.

No regards,

The Dunlop Formula R's are good. And decently priced, but I got mine for 10 x 6 wheels and costed me about 120 each. But I imagine for 12s, or 13s it would be more. I've used, on 12 x 5 wheels, Yoko A539's, no they're not a 'high performance' tyre, but still good. Really good in the wet, but not for racing.

yeah, for a road tyre, they're high performance, found their limits easily on the racetrack, but still miles ahead of bridgestones or falkens, i really liked the 539...

customer service seems to be a thing of the past,
while having my tyres fitted, nobody bothered telling me my car was ready so i sat there for ages before i finally had to ask..
and the guy said "what mini?"

Seems to me that as soon as there's a great tyre (road usage) on the market they get rid of it. There sees to be less and less tyre manufactures bothering with the small wheeled cars. So are Yokohama cutting them altogether or just sending them to Australia? Plus my question above remains too.....
