Hey guys!

As i posted a while back i was in the process of getting my Gearbox and Engine redone after my gearbox got chewed to pieces....

I have had the gear box rebuilt and its all done, just paying the rest of the bill from the Mech.
Currently in the process of pull the engine down, its in really good nick, little to no metal got into the engine itself, the only thing that has got some damage on it are the Cam followers and the cam Shaft itself but it still not that bad!

Anyway the reason for my post is that when i was pulling the engine down with my uncle i forgot to take a picture of the Carbs (Have been taking digital pics so i know how it all goes back together and where it all goes) When i took it off the two swing arms between the two carbs fell out, they both go back in but im unsure of the order. I was just wondering if anyone out there has a few pics they could post of the correct setup so i can see how i put it back together.

So you unbolted the carbs from the manifold did you? :oops:

By "swing arms" do you mean the throttle & choke interconnecting spindles? The factory manual (from memory) has a picture. Hard to see how they could be fitted wrong way round..................

Well at first i was unbolting the manifold but i couldnt get it all off cause the Carbs were in the way so i had to take them off to get the manifold off, trust me i would have loved to kept it all together haha.

I havnt got to the point of putting it back on yet so i dont know if i CAN put it on the wrong way, i just figure before i go playing around with it id just get a picture to be sure. I will have a look through the manuals and see what i can find in the mean time.

Easy to do and in the car as well, visit your local tool place and pick up a 1/2" by 3/8" drive universal socket that has the socket and swivel all in one, about 1 1/4" long. Use a short extension and wahoooooo. If it still has studs you only need to crack the nuts off a bit and the whole thing lifts out.

I've just had the same problem with the carbs. Pretty well impossible to remove still on the manifold as the heat shield is in the way of two of the retaining nuts for the manifold.

However, it is no big deal removing the carbs even if the lower nuts are a bit difficult to get to. The interconnecting links will drop out but it is pretty easy to put them back in. I hope the next pic shows the info you are looking for, in as how they go. I'm only back on the road last weekend.
