hey just drive a semi for a week and see the stupid crap people do not only p platers but had some fun last night coming back from dubbo was being held up by a slow car go to overtake and a p plater cuts me of (got to be in front of the big truck they are slow ) so i up's it and he slow's down i start going past him and then he notices that his lane ends so he ups it (giggle i got 520 hp) anyways he has to jump on the ankors :)
andhow many times have i been over taken by cars then when they get in front they slow down to below what i was sitting on cos they dont know the rd but the bloke in the semi 9 out of 10 times has run the rd a hundred times so knows every corner every bump every pothole it shits me that car drivers just dont use the thing in there head the brain .....
i know i harp on about this but well quiet frankly most car driver's engage gear and disengage brain it seam's that soon they will have to start doing phyc test's to see if a driver has the mental capacity to operate a vehicle

Min13k, from what I've seen in over 30 years of driving it is not just trucks that stupid people pick on. You are probably on the road more, so you notice it more....but really it is just a total lack of highway driving education that it is crueling our big roads.

When I learned to drive, the rule was, if you come up behind a slower car you waited your turn to overtake.....now you risk being taken out by someone has come from 17 cars back if you pull out.

The average driver these days has NO eye deer.....how often do you see people, crawl up menacingly close to the car in front, then swing out to overtake at the last moment and wonder why they go backwards when the wind resistance hits em???

Freeway driving is a lost art in this country....people just set their cruise controls and to hell with whatever else is happening around them.

As far as right lane hoggers are concerned....my thoughts are unprintable

The average Joe CAN NOT maintain a consistent speed...I wish I had a dollar for every time I have been passed by cars, only to close on them a few Kilometeres later when they have got tired of pressing the accelerator or have been distracted by a conversation within the car. Pass em again, maintaining your average speed, they come back past then further on and the whole thing annoyingly repeats itelf

I have no doubt that people do unbelievable things in front of Trucks....but its not just Trucks!!

yeah but when ya pulling 40 plus ton of solid steel and freight it's a lil harder when i have to jump on the brakes and swing it out to miss another car when the over take and then in there stupidity decided to jump on the brakes and pull over and i'm bearing down at 100kph ... may as well be mach 2 and i gotta try and stop or getaround them with out killing me or some other innocent road user in a car it is alot easier to avoid dopey pricks who have no respect for the laws of physic's (40 ton truck + heavey load devided by velocity = badly damaged car and or injurys or at worse dead person or person's in a nice shiney crushed coffin) not something i would like on my consience i have seen what happens to a driver after something like this his life fell apart he is now a alcoholic his family left him and he has nothing so i think if i jam it into the guy's on here enuff hopefully it will get through and i may save there live's and the life of other road user's and get them to think bout it maybe when they are in a car with there mates and there mate dose something stupid they may turn to them and say hey dont do stupid crap like that you know what i mean ....
i'm sorry but it is something that means alot to me i have seen some really bad accidents out there you know people burnt to a crisp and crap .....
and b4 i was a truckdriver i was a towey and seen alot of bad acco's so hey i just hope i can help to make better drivers of these guys

get's of soap box off to bed ni ni

Don't worry about me Makka, I love truck drivers. Nothing is better than following a lightly loaded semi , especially at night, not only do they know the road well they also know the speed traps and sections where you can push it a little harder and get away with it
Nothing pisses me off more than idiots who sit in the right hand lane with no intention of overtaking, idiots that sit 20km's under the speed limit until they get to an overtaking lane then floor it so you have to do 140km's to get past them because you know as soon as the overtaking lane dissapears so does their need for speed
Truck drivers are usually the total oppisite, they'll give you every possible opportunity to overtake when they have a full load. But like all drivers there are bad ones as well who don't give any consideration to anyone else on the road and will happily run you off the road if you get in their way (personal experience, twice  )

Another example of p plate driver stupidity.
triple fatal accident on central coast. 20yr old p plater driving his dads twin turbo nissan skyline at 160km/hr in a 50 zone. Hits and telegraph pole and kills himself and two of his friends.
WHAT A WASTE
