Any club needs to have a variety of people so that when it comes to organising
events and cruises you have a variety of them too, otherwise you seem to do the
same old thing time after time

Nope, sorry. Got other things planned on that day, catching up on my social life at home.

Yeah ! Thanks for that and thanks to everyone who voted us Club persons of the Month... That was a surprise and a half for us. We never expected to get awarded that Trophy at all, let alone get our Photo splashed on the front page of the Mini Mag. Like I said, we love the club and it's members and since we joined some years ago we only missed a few of the monthly meetings but that was because we were away either in Europe last winter or at Rainbow beach or Fraser Island for Christmas and the new year. I want to try and Map out a run or a traesure hunt event around our area, Jimboomba, Cunangra, Beaudesert, which will end up at our place for a BBQ. There are lots of lovely hilly roads around here that are Ideal for Minis. And I want to get a Photo of as many Minis as possible on our property filling up my carpark.

Congrats Tony & Viv on the award,

Hope to see you and say hello when I get on a run with the new car. I have been a member since early 2000 but never once been on a drive.
I am slightly embarrassed about the colour of the car but I am willing to let that slide.
(hope I am around to go on a spin around Beaudesert - love the area down there - bushwalking in Lamington is fantastic and its always a good drive over the Lions road)

Cheers
Pete

i finally considered joining the club, and looking at being more active with runs and the like. i was even thinking of putting my car on special vehicle rego. that was, until i read the requirements.

- have to be a member 12 months
- have to attend at least 6 meetings in 12 months

and this is just for them to age the car and sign a form to say it is what it's meant to be. what a load of bollocks! i won't join now on principle. and that's without going in to the other stuff that people have mentioned (my family was a member of the QMCC growing up, and were told that there was no such thing as a Sunshine, even though it's one of the rarest Mini models ever made!).

i understand that they want people to volunteer and get involved, and not just bludge off them or whatever, but there's no way i could commit that much time. i'd be much better off saving my time and money and putting that in to my car.
