The UK 1100/1300s have a tap on the heater hose to stop the water flow when it is off.
The Aussie 1100/1100S have water circulating through the heater all the time to give more cooling for Australian conditions.
The radiators in the 1100s are bigger than the ones in Minis.

My thermo fan. I've never seen another like it. But it fits the radiator perfectly. I bought it form Brickworx with a sender which goes in the bottom hose. Steve said it was from a Jap Rover.

Slinkey, you are right, that is a very neat install that looks like its supposed to be there.

Hi

I was wondering how the sender fits into the bottom hose. is there a sender boss / adaptor that fits in between the rad and the bottom hose

Thanks

B

The bottem hose has about 2inchs cut out of it. A t-piece is put in and the sneder is tightened into the threaded hole in the t-piece.

It's exactly the same as it was on the Rover, but the hose I was giving with the sneder and t-piece in it was a bit dodgy so I cut up my new one. Nice fit, getting to the wires would be a bugger, but I have rather skinny hands, so to me, no problem.

Great pics, your old water pump with the pressed metal style of impellar just don't work.

And sorry to say, looks like your fan is on backwards :(

I was careful to put the fan back on the same way I took it off, but than found out that the idiot that owned it before me had been driving it around for god knows how long with it in the wrong way !!! , so I had to remove and re-install all over again.... oh well, at least I'm good at it now.
