My advice is....

pritty = pretty
pirple = purple

:lol:

but seriously, use a wire wheel on a drill to rip that black sealant off...and it's great for getting off the crud left after removing the insulation material. PM gafmo for advice on that, he is an ace with them

some painting tips can be found here-----> HERE

Drill.... swill.. :x
get 4" angle grinder, fit 4" diameter twistknot wire wheel, put on facemask. Rips her off quick smart, 10,000+ rpm- and lasts forever compared to those little hairy drill brushes.. :P

I only used ONE of those on JAM.....it lasted forever....but JAM was in OK condition before I started. The paint was VERY thin, which helped a lot :wink:

Try using Thinners or turps instead of the petrol and it is cheaper.

Make sure you primer/filler/clear paints are all compatible with the Holden Purple. (Its a crap colour imho, I'd go the Ford Phantom Metallic Purple)

I reckon ANY colour looks good, as long as the car is straight and the paint has been put on well.

Just remember that dark colours show every little ding and scratch, so your bodywork must be neat as a pin!!!!! If you think the bodywork will not be dead straight, choose a light colour. :wink:
