Would anyone know if there is any 10" wheels available to fit over my 8.5" disk brakes.
Currently im using 12" but would prefere the natural 10" look. I have seen them in a UK mag but not in OZ. Can anyone help.

i don't think any 10" will fit over 8.4"

What type of brakes are you using? Cooper S discs are 7.5, some hondas discs are 7.9 & the late mini discs are 8.4, 10's are fine over cooper s brakes, some 10 inch rims fit over honda discs but no chance of fitting 10's over 8.4 inch discs brakes.

Some wierd Japanese wheels with big offsets claim to do this, you look underneath and the whole wheel is 'outboard' of the disc!

Otherwise as andbat says, 8.4's and 10" is a No Go!!

I think the ones you're referring to are the alloy cooper s wheel copies , they look like the original cooper s wheels with the holes around the edge of the center and even take standard looking hubcaps but somehow will fit the 8.4" brakes . As far as I know they are only available through the UK place (minispares , minisport , one of them like that) that had them made and not sure on shipping cost , someone was asking them for a quote inthe wanted section from memory but they didn't hear back from them yet .

You could always put Cooper S 7.5" rotors and Cooper S calipers on.

No 10" wheels actually fit OVER the 8.4" disks and calipers.

The offsets used on some of the japanese alloys are ridiculously large, and spoil the look of 10s IMHO.

Go trade in the 8.4" brakes, but some 10" wheels and Cooper S 7.5" brakes and be happy.....

Some 10" wheels also won't fir over 7.5" discs too, so beware before you spend a fortune!

2's - sorry typo, i have 8.4" brakes or 8 & one/half in.
sports 850 - yes, the wheels ive seen was in a UK mag called 'Miniworld' & are cooper s replicka's 5x10". Suitable for Rover 8.4" disks/callipers suggesting group 5 arches, with a bigger offset than original cooper s steel wheels. They look like the real thing.....but? Who's wants to be the 'ginny pig' and take the risk in being the first to import knowing they may not fit ? bugger that eh.
Matt - u have done some homework on these wheels, i look forward to your posting when they reply, but maybe ur right, pissoff the 8.4's and do the logical thing & get the real thing.
Poeee - is it possible to fit 7.5' rotors & callipers to 8.4 disks ? very good question. Has it being done?
Graham - how hot are those wheels? do you know anyone who are succesfully using them?
I reckon im not the only boof who with little experience early in my mini's restoration, who has taken the cheeper alteritive to replacing by drum brakes with 8.4 in stead of 7,5 simply for availablity & budget. So I though for all those others punters like myself, Id ask the question. Is the answer simple, STAY ORIGINAL?

What is the actual clearance diameter for a set of 8.4 brakes anyway? The callipers must add 20-30mm to the diameter? It would be interesting to know and do some measurements.

I might try my 10x7's over a set of 8.4's if I get a chance this weekend. Theyve got SO much offset that the backing plate AND the drums are exposed by at least 15-20mm when the wheels are fitted So I might be lucky....

I've got the edition of miniworld in front of me where they gave away 2 sets of the minispeed wheels (EDIT not the same wheels as in supercharged850's post) and this is the blurb they used so make up your own mind from it ....

"These new S-lookalike alloy 5x10in rims could be on their way to you in no time . Chrome-center hubcaps are included and unlike the original S steel rims , these will clear standard Rover 8.4in front discs/callipers . They're a great way to get an original , retro lookwithout having to convert later minis to 7.5in S discs , 7in Cooper discs or front drums
