:? :? :?

After getting the 1275 installed in my moke and tuned she was running really well until the last week or so. Now I have days when I put my foot down and she is responding but other times feels like she is having a struggle to get power up. Alsp pop, popin' back through the exhaust. Only things I have done since tuneup was put in new plugs and replace the ramflo foam for a unifilter one.

Currently running on Premium fuel as near all BP outlets in Hobart are out of Ultimate ?? 1275 is near stock with 1 1/2" carby, ramflo airfilter (300 series), extractors and 1 3/4" exhaust system. Fuel filter is brand new.

Dizzy is 45DM4 with Lucas AB14 electronic ignition module if that has any bearing on things.

Quite puzzling??

Just check the dizzy clamp to start with and see if it's loose enough to move , the motor might be setting it's own variable timing  . At least it's a quick and easy one to rule out .

Depends on what words you are using , it wouldn't let me use a well known manifold maker from the 70's last week , try using spaces in between the letters of any odd word and see if it works .

Bingo!

You'd be surprised how much of a difference the uni filter is compared to the ly nx element. The uni filter breathes almost like it has no filter (almost). I bet it has thrown out your jetting.

Just to give you an idea, when I tried the ly nx filter this week on my 1330 with dell orto, I had to screw in the idle screws (leaner) a whole 3 turns in order to make it run normal. When i replaced it with the unifilter, I had to screw it out 3 turns (richer) as it was breathing so much better.

Check your jetting, adjust it slightly to make it run alittle more rich and see how you go.

Did you oil up the element too much? it should arelady come oiled. Try to squeeze out the excess, it should only need light oiling...

Yeah , that's the message you get when you use a word that the forum thinks is an instruction for it to do something other than post a message , I tried to post a message saying a l y n x manifold and it threw a wobbly . Try and be creative with the spelling of anything like that and you should be right .

EDIT after seeing chongs recent post - It seems the manufacturers name is also an instruction to the forum that it should do something that we aren't authorised to do , hence it won't allow us to post anything with it ....

Cheers for responses. will look into the filter change. Would the state of the plugs also give an indication whether she is running lean or rich. The electrodes on the just replaced plugs are a ghosty ash white?? :?
