Would be worth asking if they clear metro and metro vented....using the term 'rover' just creates confusion.

Anyone want to figure out a price for landed in NZ/Oz?

How is that possible? Are they a completely different rim to the one on ebay and the one that Keith Calver reviewed?? Because both of those have a completely different offset to standard.....

(but I can only assume these are the ones people are talking about..... cos they might not actually fit)

Well, the cat's out of the bag now. I was hoping nobody noticed those wheels.

The seller is not sure what size disks were on the car they came from, so it could go either way. It was an injected car, but it may have had a Cooper S disks swap.

Can't see how they would fit over 8.4s myself. :?

I think the rim is offset so much that it doesnt physically go OVER the caliper... the caliper is mostly exposed behind the rim. Thats my theory anyway.

If so, the eBay wheels can't be "the ones that fit over 8.4's" cos there's simply not enough offset. :(

Not sure about the Japanese wheels but I've sent an email to minisport UK asking for clarification of the offset and whether they will fit over 8.4 inch brakes like claimed in miniworld , and for clearance of the calliper to the inside of the rin . Personally though I'd imagine if the allot wheels will fit over 8.4's then steel wheels should too , even if it needs an inch spacer or something but I've never heard of someone doing it . Surely an alloy rim would be thicker than a steel one and that thickness would have to be on the inside of the rim rather than inside the tyre area ...

Yep, this is a different rim. Not the Japanese rim with a huge offset to hang them outboard of the disc.

An actual cooper S steel replica in alloy!!

Cheers
Matt

I think minispeed sell the version that fits over the 8.4 disk, minisports version are only new. There is a chrome set on ukebay that minispeed is trying to sell. The OEW version look great close up.
Love those Valtain wheels especially the split rims...... Yummm

Well , from below , we can take it that the current minisport wheels aren't the ones they gave away in the miniworld competition last year , the ones in the link up the page are standrard offset and won't fit the 8.4 brakes .

Dear Ian,

Thank you for your e mail, it was very good to hear from you, and we have pleasure in advising as follows.

Regarding the above wheel, this has an identical offset to the original steel Cooper S wheel, however, it will not fit with the 8.4" discs.

We hope that this information is of assistance, and if there is anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us again, when we will be only too happy to assist in any way possible.

Thank you again for your interest, and we look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Very best regards,

Mick Holt,
Sales Manager.

Fit by having a huge offset! disc and caliper inboard of the rim!

Sounds dodgy to me!

Cheers
