I am trying to find a picture of the area where the automatic gearbox and the selector cable are linked. An exploded diagram would be the most helpful, but normal photos would help too.

I have an 1100 matic engine.... and the selector..... but cant see how they should be connected. Obviously, i'm missing a few bits inbetween the threaded cable end and the arm that sicks out of the gearbox, and i dont know what they are.

There's a bellcrank on there, go to http://www.jpat.co.uk/productsandservic ... alogue.htm and download the AP parts catalog.

Go down to Brickworx and get them to show you?

Otherwise I can take off the cable cover (one bolt) and take a photo if that helps.

Cheers,

Found a couple good pictures in the "Big Black Book" on pages 'Fa-15' and 'fa-1'........ but they dont list the parts that go on the cable, only the bits on the gearbox selector rod.

Yeah, might need to go down to Brickworx and dig thru the mess a bit.

On the gearbox end of the cable outer there should be two big nuts and washers. One nut and washer on the cable outer, thread through the cast mount in the gearbox. Put the second washer and big nut on. Leave loose for now.

Next you need the u-shaped bracket with a thread in it and a pin with circlip. Wind the u-shaped bracket onto the thread of the cable inner. Manoevere into place over the gearchange lever on the gearbox. Insert a pin through the u-shaped bracket, lever, other side of u-shaped bracket. Attach the circlip.

Replace end cover (if your box has one).

Adjust shifter and go! :)
