Comparitively speaking.

I spent the entire afternoon changing the water pump in the Swift Gti
Although the pump is smaller & more compact than the A-Series, and they
use tiny bolts (a 10mm spanner does almost everything) they make up for
it - the pump alone has 15 bolts & studs !

Of course before you get to that stage you have to remove:
- alternator bracket
- air filter & AFM
- RH engine mount
- crank pulley (don't get me started)
- both timing belt covers
- timing belt
- belt tensioner

On the plus side, it no longer loses coolant & has picked up quite a few HP
due to the new timing belt I fitted- think the old one might have been 1 tooth out?

you will find it easier next time if you go in through the rear rhs indicator lens hole

Im dreading this job on my Alfa 33, the waterpump is behind the timing beltS being a boxer, its right down low, and the radiator, alternator, aircon, etc is all in the way!
and its ittalian!

took me an hour to change the oil yesterday, and i got covered in it!

looking to sell the car before anything goes wrong!

You think you got problems. Find the spark plugs - 2 day job to replace. I love working on the A-series so simple and easy to access

My wifes 88 Telstar, to remove the alternator you first remove the front exhaust pipe and undo the bottom ball joint and remove the drivers side driveshaft.

Luckily I don't have to work on my other car.
I get the dealer to do it for me

good trusty car those, dad ran ours with no gearbox oil for 5000k, then filled it up and it did another 70-80000k befor it gave up

Haha Mini is piss! Yes me and my dad swear, yell and have to take breaks in order to not tip the Mini's down the hill sometimes, but they are far easier than anything else, appart from maybe an old 60s Holden - But the Mini is far sexier - well worth the extra time and effort!

yeah, my brothers 4AGE race car has to have the distributor removed to take the exhaust manifold off

apart from having to be double jointed and have hands of a six year old the mini is easy. i still remember being up at bathurst and watching the appendix j race, when a mini pulled over at the top of the ountain, the driver got out, pulled a spanner out of his race suit, adjusted something, got back in and completed the race! all the falcodores that rolled to a stop were done for in their practice and race

When I was at Bathurst I had a spare steering wheel.
