Was there a standard undercoat colour applied to mini clubman?

The paint on my mini is cracking and peeling off. My mini is red but where the paint has cracked off it is yellow underneath.
Would this be an undercoat colour or perhaps just painted red over the top of an original yellow top coat?

Thanks.

Lift up the carpets or look in the boot up at the underside of the parcel tray & other hard to get at spots away from the exterior of the car to see if you can find any other signs of the yellow colour. Most likely a red respray over a yellow previous colour because.... red ones do go faster.

I take it the original paint colour code plaque is missing from the engine bay near the compliance plate!!

Yep original colour code plaque is missing.

Would the yellow be known as Pale Primrose?

red ones go faster ... but yellow ones are race cars.... using Ferrari and Porsche mentality.....
