I would like to unofficially introduce my new website to the Mini Community.

www.ClubmanGT.com.au

The reason I say unofficially is because it is not 100% finished, and I guess it probably never will be.

The reason is simple. The subject of the website is not 100% clear-cut. There is a lot of really good information on the Clubman GT still in peoples heads, on paper in the bottom of drawers, and just plain forgotten. I will ALWAYS be adding information to this online resource, and I encourage anyone with information to share it.

I must admit that I have been trying hard to shake the Mini addiction. But, this is not easy to do. I have now accepted that my true love will always be the Clubman GT, and that is why I have spent the time AND money on creating this website. YES, I have finally paid $$$ for hosting! No ads, no more relying on others. This is all from my keyboard and my wallet!

People go nuts over Cooper S's. They sell for up to $30 000 (yes, I have seen one or two hit that mark). What's the difference between a Cooper S and Clubman GT? A couple of years and a bit of metal? That's about it really. Let's celebrate the Clubman GT and appreciate what it was in 1971/2 and what it is today.

I invite you to have a look around my new website, correct me on anything that is wrong, give me feedback on what I have done, and realise that this website will never be static and will always be evolving as more information comes to hand.

Thanks and long live the Australian Clubman GT!

Anton.

Great looking website. :D

I went and got my pinkslip today at a mechanics that specialises in taxis, they basically have the cabs queued up and 8 or so mechanics ready to work on them. With my mini sticking out like dog's thumbs in the queue, and cab driver came over for a chat and started telling me about buying a new "Mini 1275 GT" when he first emigrated to Australia from Portugal. I asked him what year was that and after some deep thought and calculations, he said "1972"! I'm guessing he was right. :)

It's a GT website, and I don't think there are enough GT owners or wannabe's online to justify having a forum.

I have set up a very simple guestbook so that people can ask GT related questions, and get an answer.

However.....I have set a forum up, but I won't reveal it unless there is a demand.

Thanks for the feedback guys. There may be a dead picture link or two...I am still ironing out those bugs.

Is the JAM site still going?
That had some good how to's etc on it - should link to those articles elsewhere if no longer going.
Good work

If you were after oooh lets say... a red Mk2 Cooper S to compare for comparison's sake a GT to a Cooper, I know a candidate......

Great site, good to see it up again better than ever. :!:

nah KB... the JAM site went 'bye bye' when I watched the car drive away with its new owner.

Also, the search function won't kick in until Google index the entire site, because I use Google search technology
