Thanks for the clarification.

What would be the expected chassis and engine numbers for the Mini Clubman and Leyland Mini?

Links to Australian square nose information would be also be appreciated.

In 71 Leyland Australia released 3 new Minis to replace the previous Mini K and Morris Cooper S. The three new models were called....
Mini 1100
Mini Clubman
Clubman GT
Notice that only two of these models were called "Clubman" and none of them were called "Leyland"

The Mini 1100 was the cheap model, with rubber suspension and the centre speedo as well as the long gearstick at the front of the floor. The factory model code was YDO21 and you will find a 21 stamped under the bonnet. The body prefix is YG2S6.

The Mini Clubman was a better equipped model with chrome around the doors and hydro suspension as well as a remote gearshift. The factory model code was YDO22 and you will find a 22 stamped under the bonnet. The body prefix is YG2S7.

The Clubman GT was the replacement for the Cooper S with all the same gear that you would find in an "S" but with the better trim of the new models. The factory model code was YDO23. The body prefix is YG2S8.

To be continued....

Great stuff. Can I be the first international member?? :P

Hey just a little off topic, but how much would you guys pay for a completely mint clubman in the land of things that bite in the nite :D say a early 70's one like mine. im not thinkin of selling it, god no!! just interested to see how much you guys have to fork out.

Ireland is crazyland for buying minis. There was an imported japanese mini for sale here last month, 1990's model with a bit of rust for 15,000 Euros - according to my very dodgy conversion calculator thats 25 thousand Aus Dollars.

sorry rambling. yeah get the register up and running and i'll alert all the freckled people over this side of the rock 8)

I've been offered a mini clubman 1971 one owner with 58000 miles in perfect condition, for $10,000 unrestored the interior is faultless, original motor, and body is in great original condition, just needing a good clean.

DO you think it is to much, it's owned by a mini mechanic that is for sale but only to a very select few that he will know that will treasure it and keep it looking great.

My plan is to buy it, put it in my garage and keep it as a museaum piece so in 10-20 years it will be a real jem, as most clubbys are flogged, and not cared for as they were used to be the cheap mini

Dont put in your garage and let it gather dust, enter it in shows and show it off.

Hell Beefa isnt the most beautiful Clubby in the world, but to me he is a gem.

I say show off your pride and joy :D :D

starting a stock clubbie list would be good, its good when you try to track down previous owners of cars.
