Hi All,

I havn't post that much before now but I've been restoring a 1968 Morris Mini Van converted to a station wagon.

I'm in the last stages but I'm left deciding what car alarm is best suited. I also want to have an immobiliser and if possible central locking which may seem stupid but I just want to know if its possible and if it is, whats the best way to go about it?

Without some serious mods (either fitting clubby style doors or fitting a different style lock) you can't put central locking on the morris style turning handle doors...

as for alarm systems I think they're all pretty much of a muchness... I run a rhino in my min. it's no frills, simple one button remote, but it works. it'll go off if the car is bumped or a door's opened and one day I'll set up the immobiliser  you've really gotta look around and find one you like with all the features you want...

have fun with it :)

Thank-you for your help. That has saved me a lot of time in trying to figure out how to put central locking on the car. :D I think I'll sick to opening doors the old-fashioned way

Now off to searching for a car alarm...

Actually I should ask. Where did you buy the rhino one from and how much did it cost?

68, i personally don't have one - mine's just alarm and imobliser - but may i reccomend looking for an alarm with a G force sensor? This will save unfortunate accidents like tipping or rolling like what happened to our poor Betty (Emmeline). :)

Yeah back seats are put in. It was a factory modification.

Mini K, why are you sick of your alarm.immob? does it get too annoying or it doesn't work properly...?

Ok , so a mini traveller ? Can you put some pics up of it , there aren't many down here , is it an English/African/New Zealand import or an Australian dealer fitted one ?

Its an Austrlian dealer fitted one. So it gets a bit confusing. Its a Morris Mini Van (round nose) but I think when it was new, back seats were installed at the factory. Sorry i don't have access to any pics of it at the moment. But I'll post some tonight

I have a brand new Rhino Alarm purchased in the heat of the moment then decided I didn't really need it - willing to exchange for some $$$$
