hey
i have borrowed an air filter form a member of this site, i cant ruin his air filter but does anyone know how to clean em, do they need to be clean for blue slip,

nah man a air filter is a replacing element so dont worry blue slips only require the air filter box so its standard, as for the air filter compressed air usually works well or juz tapping them against the wall

If you get a blue slip failed for a dirty air filter, then find another blue slipper because it will be impossible to make him happy. 8)

i now live on a job site at canoelands, if anyone can find it on a map they are lucky so im not exactly close to sydney any more,

Save your bucks. There is no way a blue slip inspector is going to check an air filter. As long as it looks Ok it will pass.

If you have a box, you don't even NEED the airfilter apart from your own reassurance for the engine, a inspector couldn't care SFA about it.

If it is too dirty it will use more fuel and run rich (smoke out pipe) So a replacement could be a good thing.
