Ahhh HUH! Issue sorted...this'll teach me to skim read......

When you said: "The main dimensions of drum and Mini disc swivel hubs inside and outside are the same, except disc ones have lugs on front to mount the caliper, and drum" I was skimming and my brain stopped at lugs and thought you were referring to the wheel locating lugs on the front of some drive flages...so thought you were calling a drvie flange a swivel hub.
I'll shut up now.
Anyone still reading?

an upright is usually used now to describe the coil-over and hub mount (that's one piece) in most of the common macpherson strut type suspension.

IMHO: Macphersons are a worse design than the mini suspension because it generally ends up with free play and under hard braking and acceleration the caster change their goemetry. However this only occurs when you are pushing cars to their limit, so most people it's fine. And the selling point it's cheap to make!! :D :D :D

Yup, Macpherson strut has only ever been a breakthrough in economics, not design!

had a play with a N13 Pulsar, will look for bearings over the next few weeks when I get time. Any other suggestions. Will have to fit under 13's without mods? all further input appreciated

possibly. Although Trevor and I am busy at the moment so I haven't been out there for a couple of weeks. I was hoping to do some upgrades for him to sell as a package.

The Automotive industry is really hard to get ahead when your running a workshop at the moment unless your charging top dollar. I was going to try and get some parts together to get him ahead. I think brakes are often the hardest thing to sell to someone with limited mechanical knowledge. because no one knows the value of a good stop till your life counts on it...... I have had a few very close calls..

Most customers don't want to pay for it, don't want to fix it. Cars I think are just costing too much overall. I don't know why people buy them if they don't maintain them

I have been considering using Suzuki Swift Gti Mk 1 brakes. They will fit under the right 13" rims. Also considering I have a spare set and am going to fit the G13b too...

Just haven't had time to dummy fit them to see if it'd work.

Cost pressures hit everyone these days Hugh....of course people want you to fix their brakes for nothing...they have a million other things they need to spend their money on :!:

How about sending some details of your kits to say the club and Classic Motoring, if you think it would benefit the locals?? I'm sold on good brakes....I hate those seconds where the world stops turning and everything goes quiet just before you hit something :D

well I understand the money thing being a student. and you won't be left out of the loop once the brakes are all Ok'd. I really want to explore my options and make the best choice though... it all takes precious time
