Firstly , rather than complain here , go back to the person who did the work and show them it's rubbing rather than muddying their name . Secondly , wasn't the wheel bearing problem one of your first posts on here ???

Repco or anyone should be able to supply them , check with your suppliers at work and see what they have . The doc will no doubt point you in the direction of the Timken bearings but I'm not sure if they are mini specialist only or any auto parts supplier .

You can get Mini wheel bearings from any bearing place- CBC etc.
Or from Mini parts places, I use Karcraft as they are handy to work.
Timken tapered roller bearings last longer, but make sure they are the proper 2 bearing kit, which includes a spacer.
Don't just go and buy two industrial Timken bearings, the spacer is not included and your old one is different and may be worn anyway.

There are other brands of tapered roller bearings for Minis now, Timken is the best known brand name.

Why didn't you fit new unis?
Why didn't you fit them yourself?
Why didn't they last more than a couple of days? The reason they stuff up is more about the way the car is driven than faulty parts or workmanship. When I was first racing I could kill new rubber unis in a week.

i asked for new unis but he reckons there dodgey so he juz replaced them with second hand rubber ones, i might ask for cones that the doc was telling me about on sunday

i didnt fit them myself cause i work during the day so i sent it to get done for me while i was at work

yeah the reason they didnt last more then a week is beyond me, i dont thrash my mini a great deal the most speeds i do is mostly 100km/h along the highway, except for last sunday lol but driving harsh on one day shouldnt cause the joints to crap themselves right away, BUT!! i noticed this arvo that the back rocker arm cover is leaking again and has probably swelled the joints again :(

S/H ones are not worth the worn rubber they are made from.
You can never get them back on the exact same way they were mounted before, and if the U-bolts are overtightened it kills them.

New ones are only $60 or so each.

We used to be able to get a conversion kit QL5000? that had proper steel unis in nylon cups, but I think they are NLA now.

Chong and I have pot joints, off a later Clubby. Better, but you need 2 later driveshafts, and the pot joint type sideshafts out of the diff too. Different...
