Anyone ordered stuff from Minisport? My 1.5 roller-tip rockers and valve springs were supposedly sent by airmail nearly 4 weeks ago - shouldn't take that long should it? the plane's certainly not up there that long :? they charged my card for the parts on 6/10 and for shipping on 14/10...

I bet it's on it's way by sea.

I bought some stuff from MiniSpares and they sent it via air mail. Well 2 months later it arrived on my doorstep, having come by SHIP!

Also, my bro lives in London and says Royal Mail is sh!te. It might be lost in transit.

I have ordered from them but usually my stuff has arrived in around 3/4 days. Never had any problems.

I ordered one lot from MiniSPORT years ago, never again. Thought it had been lost- 10 weeks later it got here. Some flea had sent it around the world by sea! Dickheads... :x

I've found MiniSPARES better, about 20 deliveries now and nothing lost. :D

I think some people are talking about the wrong minisport. Which one are you talking about, GeoffP? The Aussy one or the UK one?

edit/ woops, didn't see the title!

I've ordered from minispares a few times and the goods arive in the country within 3-4 days but because the knobs ommit customs info (well just the type of goods and my phone number really) every time and UPS doesnt request it every time, the stuff gets lot with UPS for 4 weeks at a time. Not the last time though, the last time they charged my card and shipped the items even though I only asked for a shipping quote for approval but on the upside UPS called me within 4 days.

Geoff P- good luck with the roller tip MiniSPORT rockers- last set I saw (Gareth_1330's) got flats worn on the rollers in less than 10,000 Kms..! :x

well that's really not what i wanted to hear :( I rang them last night and they were going to try to find out what happened to the delivery and call me later today...
I had thought that the roller tip rockers from minisport / minispares were all basically the same so just went on price... hopefully mine don't go bad like Gareth's. can you change the rollers if that happens? I think they were 10 pounds cheaper than minispares but then the springs were about 10 more so it probably worked out the same anyway... oh well not much i can do about it now...

Geoff,
No they are not the same as MiniSpares. :(
Different roller pin details, and maker.
Colour is a bit different too...

Keep an eye on the rollers- Gareth had a whinge, and they sent him some new rollers. May have just been a bad batch... we hope!

BTW.. don't forget to open them up by .003" more than stock- if not, the "cam follower to lobe" clearance is reduced, which will make it a pig down low and could give you a `hole' in the midrange.

Well at long last they're here 8 weeks after I ordered them  - just picked them up today and they look VERY nice - good enough that i think they're worth having just to look at even if they don't make me any extra power :D
i called minisport AGAIN last week and by thursday the guy decided they must be lost in the post and sent me another lot. They were shipped on Friday last week and got to my local post office wednesday (yesterday) which is not bad.
I must say that except for taking so long, they were very good and helpful to deal with and offered to send the replacements without me having to ask/demand for it or anything like that, so overall I'm happy. best quote i had in aust for rockers + springs was about $680, and they cost me total of $500 including shipping
now i just have to fit them but i'm thinking it might be worth doing a before and after dyno run to be sure what the difference is

I'm first to stick my hand up and say that if the other set do arrive (may be comming by sea) I'll buy them off you whch means your new set of 1.5:1s will have cost you very little.
