ok last week i had my windows tinted for the mini and saturday i was gonna put them in, but the rubbers were all to big.

i trimmed the rear quarter ones, and the front door ones(i havent done the felts and stuff yet as the doors arent on.)

i went to fit the rear winndscreen but the rubber was way too big, like a couple of inches too big, exactly the same with the front windscreen i tried both rubbers i had and they were both ske wiff.

any ideas why? ill give the supplier a ring today toi find out whats goin on. :?

On early cars the rear screen was smaller - you might have an early shell and a latter rubber?

Very very common issue unless you own a rover.

The modern one piece rear window rubbers are in fact made for Mk3 and onward minis. They have the larger rear windows like Mike said.

For about a decade and a half, the only one piece rear rubbers available have been the MK3 onward large window versions. But every one just cuts them and that's that. Glueing or siliconing the join is important once fitted, there's nothing worse then a slow drip that is hard to stop when it rains.

All Australian built cars have the same sized windows.
It is only the pommy cars that have various sizes.

well I understood the whole post. of course MK1 isnt going to want to cut the front windscreen rubber, makes sense as it will leak (unless you glue it but who knew that?, i dont).
Meh, pistol pete must work for a rubber supplier lol

Yep, Mick is correct....
The rear windscreen rubber MUST be cut to fit aussie cars.
The front one should fit no cutting...we never have to cut them.

However i have seen some crazy stuff in my time, like cars where front windscreens will not fit and we have had to get the glass trimmed to fit. turned out someone had cut the roof off  and not left enough room for the glass...lol
