I'm almost out of the stuff I'm currently using and was wondering what other people use to give their baby/ies a bath with? Is there a brand that happens to love Mini's more then others?

Any advice or recommendations would be great ...thanks

mr sheen is the only thing i use with cheese cloth on my orange mini ute

Mothers car wash with hot water, wash car with chamois, wash wheels with another chamois, wash engine bay with another chamois.....

Then dry car with another chamois, dry wheels with another chamois, dry engine bay with yet another chamois.....

6 Chamois in total to wash 1 Mini......

I think you will find there are different tribes supporting different brands, meguiars, autoglym, Mother's etc. Stick to any one of these and you should be right.

Between a lack of water (not water restrictions but a genuine lack of) and living next to a fairly high volume dirt road we wash off our our cars when the need arises - like a cruise or club run.

Those at the mini car club birthday party when we arived would have noticed a considerable amount of dust on our c'dore. Not mud or dirt, dust.

Having said all that, I have seen a number of show and shiners using "Mr Sheen" and "High Detail"

i use mr sheen aswell sometimes. be warned tho it has silicon in it.
i was down at the morabbin airport once talking to a pilot who was "mr sheening" his plane and the reason why he gave me was because mr sheen actually cuts down drag, and its easy to apply.
may sound like bull, but sheen your car and go for a drive, its a bit more quiet

The Van gets the brush every once and a while but Sue's daily use to get Mequires but gets morning fresh as the paint is going bad all over. Plus I don't do it Sue does I may polish the wheels if we are going some where special

Depends on how fanaticle you want to get.

It's good to at least wax your car every now and then to keep the nasties off the paint. I prefer every six months before the extremes of summer and winter (about now and October).

Every body has their own choice of brands, but I'd recomend to use the same brand for the carwash.

Dishwashing detergent will strip your wax off very quickly and leave the paint open to the sun (UV) and chemicals in the air and rain.

oh... i don't actually wash my car...

not due to the water restrictions... (since i have none)

just through sheer laziness...

never heard of any of those brands except mr. sheen which I thought was a house cleaning product, hmmmmm.......I rarely wash my car but when ido I want to do a proper job.

I'm using Kitten stuff atm and as for water I have two fairly sized water tanks that supply our garden and cars with plenty of water and filled up as soon as we put them in and have never gotten below 3/4. we have a pump and hose attached to water things with. I totally recommend them if you haven't already gotten at least one and if you have one get another providing you can fit them.

We live entirely on water that falls out of the sky into our tanks. There is no other water supply for us except that a few times time the last twelve months we have had to top those tanks up with carted water. In any other year, the rain water is sufficient for our needs.

Sydney has had quite good rainfalls and while they may not have done much for the catchment, they have provided a lot of coastal water through the storm water drains. This is water that was never meant to end up in the harbour. It was meant to be soaked into the grounds but roads and other hard surfaces put paid to that.

Yes everyone should have tanks to take the pressure off the catchment - its free water !!!!!! Unrestricted !!!!

Tanks are good - anyway back on topic I like meguiars stuff - the NXT generation stuff in the purple and green bottles, but that's me. I wash my car fairly regularly and that's the stuff that I have decided to settle on. I reckon just go down to supercr*p and just having a look at what catches your eye, like nice bright colours and buy that one.

why dont people do it abit more systematically and tell us what you use for each makes it easier if just skimming through

im also considering some sort of anti rain stuff on my windscreen (and in my wiper bottle)
