i called minisport AGAIN last week and by thursday the guy decided they must be lost in the post and sent me another lot. They were shipped on Friday last week and got to my local post office wednesday (yesterday) which is not bad.

What do you mean? Do they mail your stuff without insurance or "sign on delivery", and I thought minisport only send via couriers?

Mike,
Both MiniSport and MiniSpares use couriers, and the mail. Mail is cheaper for you- less shipping charges, and often you escape import duty & GST because the $ allowance thru the mail is greater..
But, sometimes things can go missing... then you hope the supplier does the right thing! 8)

that was my reason for asking them to post it. I think the cut off for gst/duty on courier deliveries is $300 and post is $1000... I'll think twice next time about whether i really want to save that bit after this experience...

The people at AustPost reckon its unlikely the others will ever turn up - have to wait and see

No Kev you misunderstood me. I know about the duty and GST exemption for posted items under $1000, I only use royal mail now after my previous experiences with UPS (Geoff you wont be better with UPS you just end up paying more and they still lose your parcels - they lost two of mine for 3 weeks at a time - and their service is the worst anywhere).

What I was surprised about is that minisport sent a parcel by mail (as I know they refuse to use mail) and that it wasnt insured or anything.
