It's easy to hack the bum and fit Clubby tail lights, (not so easy to go back....)
It was trendy once. But I think it spoils them.

"Morris Y 2 S 4/1942 (and under that i think it is) 5.10"
does that mean it is a cooper mk2

mate, i had no dought that it was a good buy and its great fun to drive :D .
but i just wanted piece of mind and it would be fantastic to know i owned a genuine cooper s mk2.

and i read up on some of my mini books, and the number that should be on the plate is Y c 2 s 4/1942 which is exactly wats stamped on the car so i im prety sure it is genuine :)

It should read YG2S4

yes it should be YG2S4 instead of YC2S4 but its jamed behind the brake booster so i was looking at it from a high angle so i think it is a G. all the rest of the plate is rite though.

The guy we bought the car of said their cobra seats but im not 100% sure. does anyone else know :?:

the brake booster should be mounted as below, which makes it much easier to work in the engine bay, and take photos of the compliance plate ;) you can also see the positioning of the body number where it is stamped on the radiator shroud, yours should have it here too, matching the one on the ID plate

we can tell you more if you take pictures of the inside of the boot, but as said, any good roundnose with S bits mini $8K is OK, having the 1100S engine, custom dash, clubman lights, sunroof etc. all devalue it as an S, but arguably value it up as a normal mini :)
