You are missing the first bit and probably the last bit.
It could be 12Ya/Ta/H227* (early Morris 1100S)
It could be 10Ya/Ta/H227* (Morris 1100)
It could be 9Ya/Ta/H227* (Morris Mini Deluxe 998)

It should have something in front of the Y and it should have four or more numbers on the end (It should not have three as the first engine number is always 1001)

It will not be an original motor for a van.

It would be 9YA Ta H2227. Mini Deluxe from 1965.

9 = 998cc
Y = Made in Australia
A = 1st variation of the engine = Mini Deluxe.
Ta = remote control 4 speed gearbox
H = High compression
2227 = 1227th Mini Deluxe motor. :wink:

You say it's not standard for a van? What should be there?

A 72 van should have an 1100cc with the prefix 1000 or 1003 with the direct control gearchange.

I dont know a lot about mini but direct control gearchange does that means that the gear stick is going straight to the gear box, becose if it's the case, the stick is going straight to the box. My other mini the stick is going in the floor next to the driver seat. I am confused

The direct is the long one straight into the box.
The remote is the short one between the seats.
