Yep, mini number 8 was brought home today....

1968, YG2S1 (Morris Mini 1100??), Hydro, 1100cc with remote change box (in very good condition)

Its the closest thing I have to a running mini..... has an engine, brakes, windows, inflated tyres.... but needs the sills replaced and new paint, the brakes and wiring checked, new interior, and some rego....

But it is complete and has a new exhaust...... so yes, its driveable. Just messy, thats all.

Was originally some kind of green - Almond or Saxxon, not sure.... but now looks like some kind of wannabe drift/panda car

If I ever decide to pull the subframes or engine out, I know it will end up like all my other minis - permanently disassembled. I didnt buy it to do that - I just want to drive it and slowly clean it up without pulling it to bits.

Well done!! quick have a look underneath for rock damage/sump guard evidence, brake lines in cabin.........blackened bonnet, bonnet straps, steering wheel, gear knob, empty Tacho hole and pedals says ex-rally car

Yeah.... thats a shame.... would prefer it in the Almond green colour.... atleast it says white on the rego now too....

The guy I bought it from did say that the engine had alot of go in it (for a mini). The gearbox is quite clean, no major leaks, and it has a new 2" exhaust system and classic extractors which were fitted not long ago (but still has a 1.25" carby on it)

The 12" Motolita wheel will be for sale, as will the pedals and gearknob...... and that awful dash will be ripped out too....

Looks like a good little project - that steering wheel would s**t me off - how ugly does it look - glad to hear you're going to get rid of it.
