Mike, Valve seat recession is not just a result of using unleaded fuel, when I started racing Holdens in the late 80's I used to have trouble finding heads that were usable without having to fit valve seats, and this was while you could still buy leaded. This was the reason that HQs were allowed to fit slightly oversize valves, so you could re-claim a damaged head.

Most of the problems are from heat and tune.

Thanks for sayin but the pics (as they say) does not have a hardened seat.
