 I just happened to drive the LS on the wettest day in April on Sunday.
Flooded roads.Pulled over several times as the rain was so heavy the poor Mini wipers(2speed wipers) could not cope  Had a smart arse in a 4wd plough thru a flooded section of road, the Mini got drenched. Now its parked up in the garage to dry out

Do a search...the Doc uses a crushed rubber compound or similar and any other well sealed rubberised underfelt would be better than that smelly other stuff :D

You needed a mallet to remove the bits ????????

Andrew - if its wet - do it sooner than later and its more than just letting it air. Take the seats out, the carpet, underlay etc out as well. Dry the floor and hang the carpets etc on a fence or clothesline to dry.

You live in a coastal enviroment and the floors will quickly rust.

No the mallet was propping the carpet up...
I also live in a coastal envo(I can hear the waves now!) and having had rust cut out last year,I can only recommend what Mike has said. Also open up the back flipper windows and pull the rubber w/strip up(only on bottom lip).Let this dry out as well.

How much rain did you get?

I think our YTD rainfall is something life 180mm on an average of 500mm......

Replace the underfelt with more of the same. It's cheap stuff, $10 will get you enough to do a few cars. The problem with rubber based underlay stuff is it goes hard and cracks up and gets annoying over time, use, and when it gets wet.
:D

The lack of rain west of the Blue Mountains on the east coast is again a problem. We had a good drop in mid-febuary and it bouyed everyone's spirits and we all thought senore Nino had gone

But apart from an odd light shower there has no more rain. Pretty desparate.
