Mad-mk1 - A friend of a friend had it in his garage, stopped driving it a year ago when it ran out of rego. It came up in converstion when he said he needed money to buy a radio controlled car and had his mini still in the shed... and his friend said "I know a guy who is looking for one...". Thats how you find bargains - its called pure luck.

willy - will PM you in a bit.

1018cc - yep, its a little 12 inch wheel - too small for my liking.

minsta - Yes it is a Motolita. I havent worked out a price for it yet.

Slinkey - It doesnt have a plate on it.



Bought a battery for it today - $46 from Repco. Cranked the engine for a while to get the oil pressure up, put some fuel in the tank, a bit in the carb.... and it ran for about 2 seconds. Numerous attemps to get it to run on its own failed... so I wound the carb needle in and out again, and moved all the parts by hand..... and now SHE RUNS!!! No smoke, slightly lumpy idle, no oil leaks. Clutch feels good but the brakes are a bit poor.

Seems to have a few electrical dramas that need sorting (headlights, gauges, etc....) So, other than that and the poor body / paint, its quite driveable.

Every piece of sh*t has its price :wink:

Seriously, if you saw it in real life, the last word to come to your mind would be 'beautiful'. It has a very good engine and gearbox in it, but the body is in need of MONTHS of TLC.

Thanks for the compliment anyway, i just feel it is far from the obvious truth

Now now Ian...beauty is in the eye of the beholder....surely you couldn't be saying that any Mini, no matter how much major surgery it needs ain't purty :?: :?: :shock:
