Guys a recent change to the committee has led to a new direction for the club. the meetings have changed and are a lot more enjoyable to be at. The general business is over in about 30 min. Each meeting will be followed by a presentation, ranging from a review of someones car where the owner brings it in to talk about how it was restored, or how it was modified, what the history is etc. We are also looking at introducing workshops to teach others about paint, electrics, fuel systems etc. The next meeting is on Tue the 9th. Usually they are held at Shannons in Newstead (check website for details), however this next meeting is at BMW Springwood for a presentation on the new model of the Cooper S. More short runs such as breakfast runs, and a few speed events are planned for the year. If you ever wanted to come along for a look at what the club has to offer now is a good time.
G.

Yeah, one of your committee members was supposed to pick me up for the last meeting but he came up with some lame excuse. I won't mentioned any names.

Does yourt club hold their annual Mini Muster on the Hay weekend? If so maybe a change sometime? Afterall Hay is the 2nd longest running motor event in one location.

Sorry I know you'be heard it all beofre (if it is your club who organises it) but with a new comittee maybe something to think about.

Sorry, I thought i would correct you on the Hay thing, it is the 2nd longest running motorsport event running in the same location. 3rd longest if you count bathurst weh it started at sandown. I am pretty sure this is the case. The longest in the same location, so I am led to believe is the renualt club's weekend in Jugiong at the being of the year.

But yes it would be nice to have the qld muster on another weekend, so that more people would attend from out of state.

I'd like to go, but I'm a Hay kinda guy.

Cheers
Aaron

If they are truly making these changes, I will come back to the meetings again.

Tech stuff is always good.

Speed events are good....even if the MCCQ just got behind one of the other club speed events it would be good (Ie. HRCC or MGCC) with a section for minis. I am sure it would be well recieved :P and could be supported by the usual show and shine and day trip

^^^ Agreed.

I go to enough meetings at work to know that a good meeting is short, to the point and people leave knowing what has been decided and what is to be done.

I've found that MOCQ people have jobs that don't have meetings or they are not invited. So, the attendees at the MOCQ meetings like to drag them out and talk crap just to hear themselves speak. It is just so frustrating.

The speed event idea is nice but the club is full of concourse cars that never get dirty and bangers that can't get up Mt Glorious without overheating. No way they'll ever do speed events...

As greg has said we are implementing some changes to the
meetings other changes will come but at the same time
we need the members to get behind us so that these things
wont get knocked on the head ( as they have been in the past due to
the lack of interest )

If any of you guys (and girls ) have any changes you would like
to see done to the way the club is run, speak up, come to the meetings
talk to the commitee members and tell us what you are thinking!

Any non-members out there you too are welcome to come to the meetings ( and join as a member if you like the club)

I'll try to go to the next one at Newstead. My leave passes aren't long enough to go the the MINI Garage at Daisy Hill to see some BMW's.
