I got a qoute and changed my insurance on all 6 of my cars to Ryno from Shannons today, heres a bit of comparison

2006 BF XR6 Falcon Shannons $1160, Ryno $687
2005 Ford Feista Shannons $897, Ryno $629
our 4 minis some were dearer some were cheaper, but i changed the whole lot over saving us nearly $1200 a year.

There service on the phone is great, although there only a young company im more than willing to give them a try.

If anyone wants to try them www.rynoinsurance.com.au or 1300 650 670

I tried them on Monday, left a message.

On Tuesday nobody had called me back, so I called again, spoke to Shaun, gave him all of my details, he said he would e-mail me the quote.

Still don't have a quote. I figured that if it was this hard to give them my business, what would I have to do if I lodged a claim. 8)

i'd have to agree with poeee - I've been very happy with Shannons for my classics and the ex's car (Seat ibiza GTI) - they were great when she wrote it off, no hassle, prompt payout.

However, they won't touch my daily driver (VW Jetta TDI auto) because I use it for work - the premium they quoted on my Magna Sports a few years ago was rediculous - they just don't want to do modern daily drivers, especially for the self employed

Doogie....no offence mate, but being cheap is not what it's all about.

Promptly paying up IN FULL when you make a claim is what's it's about.

I will never use NRMA after my wife totalled her car 10 years ago. They really gave us the run around!

Yeah, when I got Shannons for my mini, they asked me over and over if I drive it during the week. I don't drive to work, I catch the train, but I got the impression they were trying to only let me drive the car on weekends.

I had to really really spell it out to the guy that I don't drive to work but sometimes drive the car on week days. Like after work, to the odd training course that isn't in the city and now, when I'm on leave.

Be very careful what they sell you. You may be uninsured on weekdays.

I was told weekday driving is OK provided it's not EVERY day.
That's alright, I usually only work 3 days anyway... and it's then parked off street in company's carpark.

(For Vigil) They got real scared when they found out I park it in the student car park and I work at a pub. At least I know I'm covered.

I hear what your saying Anton, but in my opinion Shannon's service has gone down hill rapidly of late, it took them 5 attempts to get our letter of cover right so we could get our mortgage for the house. T

They would not cover my mini panel van for the sum i wanted, the guy just laughed when i told him what i wanted it insured for and he used the line "Gee mate its only a mini" these things NEVER used to happen with Shannons.

And more little things on policies like putting my Falcon down as a BA when its a BF and having it as a 4 speed auto when its a 6 speed auto, these things would never happen once with Shannons.
