The standard early Mini mounts are on the front of the box section.
The late seats mount on the top of the box section and on the floor behind the box.

I've got the LS seats out at the moment.
1st Pic you can see the where the seat mounts/bolts onto the floor(box section)
This is different to roundies.

2nd pic you can just see the front brackets on the seat.

box section? uh oh i think the previous owner disposed of this box to give it a more lower ride

So you have no box section at all?
That's a lot of work for someone to remove.

Toastie,
I will post some pics of the CRX seats over the weekend, they were fitted to the car when i bought it, however the fitment does not look hard. they are simply bolted at the front on the box section and and a spacer at the rear made from 20x20 box steel ...easy, they fold fowards and backwards and are really comfortable. the height is good withh about ???175 mm head space for my 1700 height.

stay tuned for some pics.

Ricksta

Just to add this in...

Rover seats go into roundies easily.

Just remove old seat put new one in. And there are really nice seats for rovers, talk to Brickworx.

If ya like tartan Brickworx has a tartan interior that he may let you get cheap due to the undesiribilty of them.

I got 1/2 Leather Myafair seat, identical to Mini 30 seats but without the tag that says 'Mini 30'.
