Hi all, came across a mini owner who is selling due to not being able to insure the car as a daily driver. What gives? Surely all you southerners have your minis insured. Anyway, turns out that their minimatic was sold at the same dealership as mine. Their car was sold exactly 2 years and one day earlier than my mini 8) . The dealer was ERIC SKINNER AND SONS, 1046 VICTORIA ROAD, WEST RYDE, NSW. Anyone got any info on these guys or cars sold from them?

Everything is insurable, you just need to know what you are willing to pay...

i bet he didn't contact shannons though, I was able to do an agreed value on my S for less than 140 per year, it was agreed miles (4 thousand or so)and that sure isn't the best deal I have heard.

I've heard of the skinner stickers popping up on old cars, someone had one on here a long while back and was asking about them.

EDIT: It was also the very badly chosen name for an undertaker that used to advertise on the Gailes bend of the ipswich motorway.... :)

It always used to crack me up. I wonder what they made with the leather?

Shannons is definitely the way to go

I rang around RACV, Vigil and Shannons when insuring my 1964 850 Van and found Shannons was the easiest, cheapest and best policy by far.

Just to show what sort of price we are talking, I am a 20 year old with a previous claim (at fault), daily driven, full comp, agreed value of $10k and garaged.

All this for around the same price as a mate of the same age with 3rd party, no claims on a VN commodore.

I was extremely impressed with the accomodation of Shannons. RACV wouldn't touch agreed value and Vigil didn't like a young driver with a previous claim.

Hope this helps
Cheers

I have all 3 of my cars (2 minis and the VT) agreed with Shannons, full comprehensive and windscreen. All 3 are insured on agreed value and Junior has salvage rights.

I havent had a problem with them, and they direct debit which makes its even easier :D
