So, do you buy the fluid? or mix your own......

If bought, where from?

Alfie, I buy it from Karcraft in a 4L tin. I'm sure other vendors sell it too, it comes from Minispares UK I think.

SC850, the fitting is a brass valve cap, with OD machined parallel. It is gas torch soft soldered into a 1/8 BSP brass fitting, with Mini brake hose screwed in. Sealing is the standard rubber ring from said valve cap.
The other hose is also a Mini one, the 2 are joined by some pipe and a flare nipple. When this is loosened the end hose can be screwed onto the hydro valve. Before doing this I give it a pump to fill the lines. Then tighten the nipple.
Every 10 pumps I top up the cylinder. Next time, I'll use a Clubby one with the big plastic reservoir, it's easier to fill and holds more. 8)

Hey Kev! Is the fluid that Karcraft sell made by Morris lubricants?

I would be interested to know what it says on the tin, I am thinking of making a batch at work. We already make engine coolants etc, so have most of the ingredients, including the corrosion inhibitors.

At the moment I'm not sure whether to go for the original alcohol / water / inhibitor mix, or the more recent concept of glycol / water / inhibitors.

I have a couple of recipes from 1100 / 1800 land crab sites etc.

I'm quite keen to try some variations, increase viscosity etc see how it makes the car handle!

Any info on the tin? :?

Sorry Graham, the tin is bare all over...
It smells like original did, it's not just glycol and water.
I'll give ye a sample on dyno day...
Some people in US have used 100% glycol I think, to increase viscosity. I'm just not sure how the rubber parts go with it.
