The front of my cooper s replica sits alot lower than the back (the front is very close to the wheels), there are no leaks in the system and it all feels springy when you bounce each corner.

Qu is what will fix this? I have a pump up unit, will simply pumping it up fix the problem? Or does something need tinkering? Just wanting to get it right before putting it on the road!

The rear helper springs have probably stretched/saggy - they pull the rear down to keep it level.

They are all slightly lower at the front....check your helper springs by all means but I would be pumping it up a bit higher and letting it settle

My guess is that the rubber springs in the front displacers have sagged from the weigh of the engine.
Swap the displacers front to rear.
Or Add packers between the displacer and the ball foot.

One other possible reason is that the car is lowered by letting out fluid. As the car is lowered the front will sink more than the rear (the rear sits where it sjhould and the front is low. The height between the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch should be 13¼" or 336mm (with a ¼ or 6.4mm tolerance)

I pump mine up to 3 fingers between the 165/70-10 Yokie, and the front wheelarches.
It sits pretty level, maybe because I run S/GT displacers in front and Minimatic/Mini K in back.

When you say 'bouncy' what do you mean? You got air in there maybe?

They do sit a bit higher at the back, this is so you can actually carry fat chicks etc in the back seat. Also a full load of fuel (50L) drops it a bit.
BTW, 99% of the Cooper S's race and rally successes in the 60s were with hydro cars, so don't say they don't (or can't be made to) handle.

Ok , Just took some measurements and the rear is at about 13 and a bit inches from centre of wheel to arch, and the front is on 11inches, nearly hitting the wheel
If I pump it up, is this going to make front and back rise? or just the front?

Bare in mind I am doing a complete brake swap from drum to disc in a couple of weeks, should I simply swap to dry suspension or is this to hard?

I'd leave it hydro. I find the displacers last longer than the rubber cones do.. and they have no alloy front trumpets to rot out either.
If you want to improve handling a bit, fit a set of standard front shocks, and replace the old rear bump stops with competition ones.
Good idea to drain the old fluid out and pump some fresh stuff in.

13 3/4" sounds High...I have 11 1/2" on the rear and 11" on the front...I know mine needs pumping up but I would not go to 13 3/4"...it would look like old man emu
