Good to see the How-To instructions were of use to you Chris. Proof of value is understanding and successfully posting a pic, well done.

[Off Topic] - Sorry mods just answering the Q...

The silver show stopper is a UK Traveller promo vehicle for Zeemax UK [the ppls who make the body kit on it]. I keep this one on my site as inspiration to what I want my Van to look like eventually.

If you like the body kit look, they make kits for all models. you can get more info direct from their site at www.zeemax.com Be warned, Zeemax are regarded as the industry standard and therefore their pricing is top of the range.

One of the members here [Xtrememini in Qld] is producing kits that have a similar feel. More info on that option in this thread Xtreme Miniz body kits

The problem being I have a van shell sitting on the garage floor and absolutley noting in it, not one bolt or nut. This is what is known as a challenge. The clubman we are using as the donor car is sitting around patiently waiting for work to start. I have to get the surface rust that has accumulated over the last 25 years or so blasted off after xmas, build the rotisserie, which no one seems to have done before and start. I am going to check fit all the doors, drill extra holes like for antennas, trailer wiring etc before it is blasted. I also want to build a rolling frame for it to fit on so I can move it around if it is not on the rotisserie. I had a deadline of July to have it finished but my wife is starting chemotherapy this week and will be ill for the early part of the New Year so I am guessing that July just got put back somewhat.

Aye, same here. It's been sitting under a cover in the driveway for so long no-one notices it anymore. I have plans for it though, and collect things every now and then (Like Subaru seats, which live in the attic). I'm working on a saloon Clubman at the mo' and need to get that at least mobile and road-legal before I work on the van. But, as in Aussie no doubt, Clubman vans are quite rare in NZ so worth saving - the longer I leave the project, the rarer it will be!

Chris - Sorry to hear about your wife - hope all goes well there.

Now about that shell - no excuses, Just because it is at the beginning of it's resto journey, don't think is is not good enough to show us. There is about a dozen van restos in various stages of completion around the country so we're keen to have a bo peep. Post up some pics so we can see what you have in front of you. Plenty of free advice and assistance here mate. Someone might spot something you hadn't yout thought off and point you in the right direction to avoid problems later.

About the Spit [rotisserie], not too many have done one on a van here in Oz but we had a discusion on this topic a few months back - have a read in this topic http://www.tziworld.com/ausmini/viewtopic.php?t=2021

I found a site with some pics of an english Traveller on a spit at this site at the time. http://www.minimaster.co.uk/home/gallery/gallery-9.html

And the trolly idea has been worked by JAM into a "how to make one" on his web site at http://www.justanothermini.tk/ [in the technical section]. he did offer it for sale some time back, not sure if is still available, give him a yell.

I have to make one for Donkey as well, but I'm doing all the mechanicals and interior custom fit out first, when I get all that just right - then he gets completely stripped down for a full bare metal paint job.

Cheers Dat

This isn't your average resto, in fact it isn't a resto at all. The van shell I have is brand new off the Sydney production line and has been sitting in a garage ever since. The primer being porous has allowed surface rust to start so the easiest way to get rid of the rust is to blast it back to metal and fix it properly. This will possibly be the last new shell to be built so I want to do it properly and still keep within some sort of budget. I will keep you informed as to its progress. Anyone got a hood lining for a van? condition not important as long as I can take a pattern off it. I need some hood bows as well I suppose.
